Aging Room Havao Cigar

Saludos,

Greetings, saints of small-batch. Late-night sampling of the Ecuadorian Connecticut-wrapped Aging Room Havao cigar. Although a mild-to-medium strength cigar, there is a white pepper and cedary flavor profile that is rather clean. Will the cigar make the cut? Stay tuned to find out if it arrives in our humidor. We're pretty sure it will.

Aging Room F55 Cigar

Saludos,

Greetings, brothers of Boutique Blends. We are test-smoking an Aging Room F55 cigar. This blend that was released late last year exhibits a very complex earthy, leathery profile. Will our broker's prediction that this cigar will earn the next No. 1 rank be correct? He is on a three year streak but only time will tell. Regardless this is a tasty cigar and it should be making our humidor within the next month or two.

Factory Throwouts Cigars Now Banded

Saludos,

Greetings, thrifters and Throwouts. We wanted to give our kudos to J.C. Newman who is now banding and barcoding their $1 range Factory Throwouts cigar line. As a retailer it makes it easier for us to scan the cigars as we check you out. This was not an issue with their claro (green cigar line) but it was when trying to sort between the Sweets and Natural versions which are virtually indistinguishable until you light one up. So when you bring your Factory Throwouts to the counter, don't worry. We will now be able to tell them apart.

Ortega Serie D No. 9 Cigar

Saludos,

Greetings, oracles of Ortega. The new Ortega Serie D No. 9 cigar (6.5x38) is available at both locations now. This format is essentially a petite lancero format. We have been waiting for this size ever since we first heard about its development. We already smoked it and it is a classic Serie D Maduro blend with smooth yet rich espresso notes but it seems to be a bit more flavorful because of the higher wrapper-to-filler ratio.

Dandy McCoy Wild Bunch Cigar

Saludos,

Greetings, Wild Bunch. Chill with Dandy McCoy, the 5th Wild Bunch cigar from Ortega Cigar Co. This is the first box-pressed WB cigar and the wrapper is a very dark Connecticut Broadleaf. Dandy measures 6 inches by a 54 ring gauge and the flavor profile is reminiscent of the Jaime Garcia cigar. We only received 3 20-count boxes in this installment so hurry in to get yours before this great blend runs out.

E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2013 Cigar

Saludos,

Greetings, sojourners of Short Runs. The limited E.P. Carrillo Short Run 2013 cigar line is available at both Habana Port locations. The cigar has an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Dominican Piloto Cubano binder and Nicaraguan and Ecuadorian filler and is based loosely on its regular production Core Line. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III says that this year’s edition will be “the fullest of the four Short Runs we have done to date, but it’s creamy and spicy.”

The E.P. Carrillo Short Run is offered  in Robusto (4 7/8 x 50), Corona Gorda (5 7/8 x 52) and Double Robusto (6 1/4 x 60) vitolas with 1,500 boxes of 24 cigars produced for each size. Prices range from $7 to $10 per cigar.

Cigar Smoker Mural

Saludos,

We wanted to share with you today a picture that we took a few years ago. It is a mural that is located in the back bar of Molly's which is located in the French Quarter. We always wondered what the story was behind this man but regardless we could tell he is of good philosophy as he is obviously in good spirits while enjoying a fine cigar.

Viaje Super Shot Zombie Cigar Shipment

Saludos,

Greetings, zombie zealots. The Viaje "Super Shot Zombie" cigar shipment & authorized Viaje Retailer banner have arrived. The cigars included are the Super Shot Zombies (3.5x54), the White Label Project Super Shot (3.5x52) which was rolled in March 2012 and has a Criollo wrapper and the Exclusivo Super Lance (7.5x46). These are new cigars so we are excited to try them out.

La Flor Dominicana Unreleased Cigar

Saludos,

Greetings, dons of Diggers and Double Ligeros. The La Flor Domincana Unreleased cigar pictured below is a rare species. It exhibits dark, spicy notes but it is very smooth. It is semi-pressed. All we know about this special cigar is that the tobacco is aged for quite a few years. It is only available during LFD events. We may have to arrange an event with this company so our fans have a chance to try it.

Kentucky Derby Smoke: Tatuaje 7th Capa Especial

Saludos,

Greetings, Titans of tattoos. We are smoking the Tatuaje 7th Capa Especial cigar as a pre-derby aperitif. Pete Johnson who owns Tatuaje Cigars is celebrating his 10th anniversary in the business so we thought it was appropriate to smoke this cigar today. The 7th Capa Especial is different from his "brown line" in that the wrapper is Sumatra. Very flavorful and clean, this cigar will please the Cuban aficionado.
